Aislinn has joined DCE in June 2014 as maternity cover for Dr Danielle Fry. Prior to Joining DCE Aislinn worked for Powys County Council as a Local Authority Ecologist. Previous positions also include working for the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) as a Species Officer for the South and East Region and working as an ecologist for various ecological consultancies.

Aislinn has a degree in Environmental Science from the University of West England. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).

Aislinn is a keen volunteer and is an active member of the Valleys Bat Group and Monmouthshire Bat Group, Gwent Amphibian and Reptile Group and the Forgotten Landscapes Project.

She has extensive knowledge and experience of planning and legislation matters, particularly with respect to protected species and licensing.

Aislinn currently holds personal licences for bats and dormice. She is also a qualified tree-climber with a Level 2 City and Guilds Award in Tree-Climbing and Aerial Rescue. Aislinn has worked extensively with other protected species such as great crested newts, otters and reptiles. She has considerable habitat surveying skills and has completed numerous site and protected species surveys and management plans. Aislinn is familiar with a range of GIS and mapping technologies.
